In 2015, the Texas Legislature passed House Bill 1842, allowing public school districts to become Districts of Innovation and gain flexibility from certain provisions of the Texas Education Code.
The Cross Plains ISD District of Innovation Plan for 2026–2031 outlines the exemptions and innovative practices the district may implement to better serve students and the community.
In accordance with Texas Education Code Chapter 12A, the proposed plan will be posted on the district’s website for at least 30 days prior to consideration for adoption by the Cross Plains ISD Board of Trustees.
During this period, the District of Innovation Committee will hold a public meeting to consider the plan and receive public input. After the required posting period and committee approval, the Board of Trustees may vote to adopt the plan.
